What is EMASCC?
Alot of people do ask me this question, it does get a bit annoying and
sometimes I really couldn't be bothered answering, so if you're ever
on IRC and I am there just type in !emascc it is a trigger that will
tell you the what each letter of the acronym is.
So we have established what EMASCC actually is, so what does it
stand for?
EMASCC stands for Ecstasy Marijuana Acid Speed Crack Cocaine
So EMASCC is an acronym for drugs, this makes you sound like a
drug addict, what does it have to do with Computers and the internet
in Australia?
The acronym was basically formed from the game
streetwarz which had a major influence on all the males in my grade at
school in 2002. Streetwarz is an internet based game ;)
Okay, so the name is established in 2002, what is the history of
EMASCC?
EMASCC was an acronym da_trash_lounge and I
created as a band name for Music class in the 8th grade. These were
the days of keyloggers and kiddy programs such as Sub Seven were
extremely popular and overused. Because EMASCC was created in a Music
class, da_trash_lounge was to continue with his career in music and
create a band whose music can be seen as a live recording on my
youtube account ( http://www.youtube.com/gs69azza ), or Skylarks official
MySpace ( http://www.myspace.com/skylarkthis ). The first attempt of
"hacking" was the successful keylogged account of "Joel_r21
"'s streetwarz account. There were previous "hacks" used by
myself before EMASCC but this is the history of EMASCC. Aff_Man was
later inducted into the EMASCC group that year. After the streetwarz
era had flooded through APHS, a new game made entirely out of flash
would spark another "hack" attempt by the group EMASCC.
We learnt about lag between servers and found a
couple of ways we could over modify our cars on Nitto1320 racing
through exploiting server lag. A complete tool that was released
shortly after lag issues had been fixed allowed users to modify
race times and in the end we reverted back to our old fun and
games of using Sub Seven and port scanners. We also played
Blackjack alot and started to do research on the MIT students
and their "card counting theories".
After this EMASCC became
a 1 man team. 2003, the start of a new year with a 1 man team, I was
determined to make something out of EMASCC, I had been aware of clans
on the internet for games but I wanted something more out of EMASCC, I
saw potential for something I was just unsure of what. This year
was my introductive year into the world of *nix as I went
through the 9th grade doing Computer Studies.
